THE HOG AND HOG SEEKER.

One of the first lures I ever designed, and much overlooked by lure anglers. The Hog was designed to give the Jerkbait a wobbling action similar to a crank bait. but unlike a crank bait, the Hog veers off to the side when jerked, whilst retaining the wobbling action. Whilst on a recent trip to Holland a few slow sinking Hogs were given a test on the Zander. My Friend Diederik had requested such a model since he had been taking Zander whilst they were trolled in deep water. The standard Hog would not attain the depths that the Zander where at. The extra weight of the now "Zander Hog" not only got down there, but allowed us to fish the lure slower at depth. To cut the tale short we had Zander in the boat with the new Hog, not one but several fish took the lure. And sods law, the first fish I took was a fat Dutch pike in about 20 feet.

I make the Hog in four sizes 8" being the longest, and down to 5" for the baby. The sinking versions of the Baby Hog took a brace of  huge Pike for Diederik Poot whilst on trials in Holland.
